Well my galaxy start problems continue.We had the car in to a garage where my brother-in law works for a weekender in the form of a Major service with ford parts ordered in, soon after we were receiving beeps on start up so changed battery, that stopped the beeps and the car seemed to start fine for a week. now we receive intermittent non starting!. some times it goes, sometimes it just turns over & over then you get beeps to warn of low battery!!!.

 

Tonight after changing the coils & HT leads yesterday... it did the same again!!. Only this time it sort of caught, juddered... spited & poped... nearly cut out, then corrected to a normal tick over.

 

We have changed the regulator, coils & HT leads and of course the battery...... the plugs were replaced from the major service!!! can you help?.

While I can't immediately suggest anything it would probably help those who can if you can give some details of the car - see my signature

Oh, the relay changed was the fuel pump one!! (192 I think he said!)

Just spent the last hour pulling out the fuse area and taking a look at the relay's, in bay 27 is a relay that has "30" stamped on the top. It looks like this is the new one, anyway I put it back in and the car is realy playing up this morning... it takes 2/3/5 turns of the key with the starter motor just turning over to get it started. I drove up the road and put my foot down to see how pick-up was... juddery, jerky.

HUmm small breakthrough?. Went out in the car this afternoon, the car would not start to return home, I noticed the usual relay and pump whuring noise was not present on turning the key!!... only after 12 gos did the noise return. 3 times after that the car started.

try by passing the relay, make up a set of shorting leads and plug these into the relay housing on the fuse panel and see it helps? you may want to place an inline fuse in line with the pump feed just to be safe!

Do I connect all pins together, or which way does the layout work here?.

I assume from the diagram you need to bridge contacts 1 & 2 - black/yellow to red wire (not absolutely sure of the colour codes for the wires
